Former Honesdale High School standout Bailey Martin is continuing her academic and athletic career at the NCAA level.

A sophomore defender on the Long Island University field hockey team, Martin has been an integral source for the Pioneers 8-0 record thus far. She had an assist for a game winning goal this past weekend at Merrimack College and tallied a defensive save against West Chester.

Some of Martin’s highlights thus far in her career include: Bailey played in 14 games (11 starts) last year. She earned an assist in a 6-0 blanking of St. Thomas Aquinas. She recorded her first collegiate goal against Adelphi. She allocated an assist in a 3-1 win versus American International.

LIU-Post is currently the only undefeated team in the country at the Division II level. The Pioneers are also ranked #1 nationally for the first time in school history.

Bailey is a dual major student studying Criminal Justice and Political Science and hopes to work for Homeland Security.
